Why LEDS are so good

LEDs have just got better and better. Good quality
LEDs now deliver fantastic colour-representation,
avoiding that ‘off blue’ colour of lower quality LEDs.

WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH
LEDS AND DIMMERS?

Tips for successful LED dimming:

When dimming LEDs, LED friendly dimmers need to be used.
Just as you wouldn’t link a Blu-ray player to an old black
and white TV, so the technology behind LEDs is too
advanced for legacy dimmers to control them well.

When LEDs are dimmed, they do not change colour
and can therefore look cool compared to what your
customer may be used to with their halogen lamps.

That is unless you buy MEGAMAN’s new Dim to Warm
LEDs, which imitate exactly the colour of halogens as
they are dimmed from 100% to 10%.

LEDS COME OF AGE

Designing a scheme that includes LEDs instead of halogens has never been easier. Quality LED lamps deliver excellent colour consistency, colour rendering and lumen packages, enabling the right lighting effect to be achieved on any scheme.

Strong aesthetics
Excellent colour rendering used to be a trade-off with luminous efficacy. Now, the latest, high quality LEDs deliver both excellent colour rendering and high lumen output.

Ability to ‘dim to warm’
Beautiful dimming is now possible with LEDs. MEGAMAN’s Dim to Warm lamps change to a warmer colour as they dim down from 2800K to 1800K, mimicking the dimming curve of halogens and incandescent lamps beautifully.

Maintaining the design ethos long-term
The longevity of high quality LEDs enables the original design concept to look as good on day 1000 as it did on day one.

LEDS COME OF AGE

Gone are the days when swapping a lamp based on its wattage was a safe bet. It is now all about lumens. The lumen (lm) is the real measurement for brightness provided by a lamp and is the number to focus on when choosing a suitable LED.

Buying a higher wattage LED does NOT guarantee greater lumen output. Instead look on the specifications for the lamp to see what the lumen output is for that particular lamp.

When replacing halogens with LEDs, think ‘TLC’:
